Product FAQ's - CB Radios, Vehicle / President Johnson II

Isn't the speaker on the Johnson II a bit small to give a decent sound?

You'd be surprised - it does give a good sound, and it goes fairly loud as well.

How do you change the Frequency Band to the UK band?

1 ... With the radio switched off, press and hold the "F" button whilst turning on the radio

2 ... After the radio switches on, let go of the held button - the current frequency band code will show on the display

3 ... Select the UK code by going up or down through the available codes with the UP or DOWN channel buttons

4 ... Press the "F" button for about a second to confirm and store the selected band code

If you go abroad, this is the procedure you should use to choose the apprpriate frequency band for where you are travelling.

Can you connect an external speaker?

Yes, you can connect an external speaker to the Johnson II, it has the normal 3.5mm jack at the back for this.

Doing this will send all the sound to the external speaker and none to the units front facing speaker.

Whats does the local button do?

This switch is an on/off control for an attentuator to receiver sensitivity, in other words with it set to local, you will only hear local (strong) signals

In normal use, this switch should be set to DX (distance).
