Next Convoy4Heroes : 3rd - 6th April 2015
CONVOY for HEROES is a not for profit, Land Rover owners initiative dedicated to Help for Heroes.
We run an annual Convoy of Land Rovers with the aim of having fun, meeting new friends whilst raising money for our cause.
In our first year, 2011, we attempted and succeeded in breaking the Guinness World Records for the longest Convoy of Land Rovers with 348 at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon using the Jaguar Land Rover proving ground next door.
To date CONVOY for HEROES has given in excess of £30,000 to Help for Heroes.
WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA WHO THOUGHT OF IT?? Wed like to take all the credit for this, but the truth is that the idea of a motorised rally for charity isnt new. In March 2010, when 10,000 motorcyclists rode through Wootton Bassett in aid of returning service people, the world paid attention and so did the Land Rover community. We can do that, we thought and CONVOY for HEROES was born.
HELP FOR HEROES Help for Heroes was founded in October 2007 by Bryn and Emma Parry. It is a charity which aims to help wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The idea came about after Bryn and Emma visited Selly Oak hospital and met what they describe as some extraordinarily brave young people who had been badly wounded in the conflicts. Help for Heroes has raised nearly £70m since its launch.
