Our Opinion :
This is the new, 2020 version of this radio, now with Digital Squelch. This package is perfect for those who don't mind spending a bit more and getting better quality in return. The Midland 48 Pro is a tough and well made CB with "old fashioned" toggle switches for main functions, which (in our opinion) are more suited to an offroad/working vehicle than microswitches and touch buttons are. Some useful facilities, including Public Address, scan and last channel recall. Comes with a heavy duty microphone

  • Last Channel Recall (LCR) facility takes you back to the last channel you were active on
  • Automatic Noise Limiter for reduced ignition and static interference
  • Rotary controls for Mic Gain and RF Gain (these should be turned up fully clockwise in normal operation)
  • AM/FM switch works as UK/EU band change switch when in UK mode (a quick push activates the LCR facility)
  • Quick up and down buttons moves you 10 channels at a time
  • Extension speaker output socket on the back
  • Backlit LCD shows channel number, band, received signal and transmitted power, TX/RX indicators and function indicators
  • Dual Watch facility allows monitoring of 2 channels at once
  • DX/Local attentuation switch - switch to local if you experience interference from nearby CB users on other channels, i.e. at a very busy offroad site etc (should be switched to DX in normal operation)

You will need an SWR meter to set up your aerial correctly. Buy a meter at the same time as a package and get a free connecting lead
If you're going to be routing the aerial cable through grommets or tight spaces we can leave one plug unfitted, requires soldering
Add a 2m extension to the aerial cable, or add extra cable by the metre, various options if the standard length is not long enough
