Sometimes it's necessary to pass the aerial cable through small holes, grommets and tight spaces, and this can be difficult with the plug fitted.
We solder the plugs on and generally do a good job of it, so just taking it off and reusing it might not be so easy for you to do so you can choose to have the plug supplied but not fitted, so you can solder it on (it DOES have to be soldered) when you have all the cables routed through.
