Our Opinion :
A real breakthrough! A cb where you can hide away the main body of the unit leaving just the small control panel on show. Lots of great features including another first - CTCSS tones which mean you can set the cb to only receive other people with the same unit, set to the same CTCSS code. Very good build quality and performance.

MAIN FEATURES :
• Legal in UK and most of Europe
• 2m lead from main unit to detachable panel - 9 pin D-SUB type connectors
• Remote head panel can be fixed almost anywhere around the cabin while the main unit can be hidden away, under seat, in roof lining etc
• Large & clear LCD display with channel number/frequency and signal meter plus indicators for all functions - also shows the volume and squelch levels visually
• User selectable manual or auto squelch
• Channel scan function continously scans the channels, stopping on ones where a signal is present... it will then stay on this channel until transmissions have stopped for 10 seconds and it will then restart scanning
• Three easy-to-program memory channels so you can get one-button access to your most commonly used channels
• PRI button can be programmed to whatever channel you want to be your priority channel - similar to the memories above but is also used in the Dual Watch facility, below
• Mhz button allows you to toggle between channel readout or frequency readout
• Tone coded squelch system allows you to set the unit to only receive other units with the same tone code, ignoring all other transmissions... ideal for communicating only with certain people, or setting up groups - this also illiminates inadvertant noise breakthrough between transmissions and is not squelch dependant (a really good feature for farmers, offroaders or other groups of people communicating together who just want to hear each other and nothing else)
• Tone button enables a high-cut audio filter, reducing hiss
• Switchable (on/off) roger beep - sends a beep tone at the end of every transmission, particularly useful if signals get weaker or there is a lot of noise - the receiving station can hear the beep easier through the noise and will know that you have stopped transmitting
• Dual watch facility for monitoring two channels - the receiver will switch between them waiting for a signal to be present
• LOC button enables a reduction in receive sensitivity which reduces interference from nearby cb users on adjacent channels, if the
• CH9 button for instant access to the emergency channel (09)
• DIM button allows dimming of the backlighting on the display - ideal for less distracting nightime use
• Switchable microphne gain amplifier so you can have the mic further from your mouth in quiet environments (in noisy vehicles, this is best switched off)
• Rotary channel change control on the control panel and up / down channel change buttons on the microphone
• BP button for switching key tones on or off - you can have the unit make a beep every time a button is pushed (to alert you to inadvertant button pushes etc) or you can switch the tones off
• Main unit has a speaker on the underside as is usual for cb radios or you can plug in an extension speaker
• EEPROM flash memory preserves all settings when the radio is removed from power, even for a long time!
