This slides onto the bottom of the unit, in place of the battery pack and provides an easy way to power the radio from 12v and to connect an external aerial.

Note : This item is fully compatible with Maycom AH27's of all ages but some versions of the Radioshack TRC-1014 were down-specced and don't have the ability to connect to external aerial with this adaptor... slide off the battery pack and look at the underside of the radio... you will see two spring metal strips close to each other which are the power connections - if you also see a small round metal stud, this is the aerial connector - if its there you can use this battery eliminator for connecting an external aerial... if the stud is not present on your radio you'll only be able to power the radio from this item.
