There's a good few pages for you to have a look at - see the links above, but here's some good general installing advice to start you off!:

It might seem a little complicated at first, but installing a CB into your vehicle should be fairly simple... as long as you remember a few important points... :

  • Try to get the power for the CB as direct as you can from the battery - ideally connected directly to it.
  • Your aerial will need a good earth connection to the vehicles' metal body
  • Your aerial should be mounted as high up as possible, and as far away from other objects as possible.

  • You will need to check your SWR after you've fitted the system - if you don't you may be risking damage to the CB - not to mention having a pretty lousy range of transmission.
