Product FAQ's - CB Radios, Vehicle / Midland 48 Excel Multi 24-12
Some photos show display with channel number, some with frequency, whats this?

The Midland 48 Excel Multi can be switched to show either channel number or frequency. The current band is also shown in both settings.

Whats with the 'swinging needle' signal display?

This is swings and roundabouts...

One one hand, you get to see much finer graduations of signal (good for assisting people in testing, as the needle signal meters show very slight differences in signal, whereas the LCD segment displays cannot show this so well). This can be down to "a needles' width".

On the other hand, the swinging needle displays like the Excels' are not so easy to see at a distance, and cannot be read so easily at a glance as the LCD type.

How do you change the Frequency Band to the UK band?

1 ... With the radio switched off, press and hold the "NK" button whilst turning on the radio

2 ... After the radio switches on, let go of the held button - the current frequency band code will show on the display

3 ... Select the UK code by going up or down through the available codes with the channel knob

4 ... Press the "LOCK" button to confirm and store the selected band code

If you go abroad, this is the procedure you should use to choose the apprpriate frequency band for where you are travelling.
