The club was started in August 2000 by Stuart Dymond and Dave Gardner. They noticed a lack of clubs for the Mini in their area so in classic British fashion after a few cups of tea it was decided to form the only Mini club in Gloucestershire and Forest Areas.
The first meeting was held at Brockworth School, Mill Lane, on the 26th of August 2000. Dave along with Wendy his partner together with Stuart and wife Clare had distributed about 400 flyers onto every Mini they saw. The end result was a turn out of over 35 potential members arriving at the first meeting.
At that meeting Dave Gardner was elected as Club Chairman and Stuart Dymond to the post of Vice Chairman. Phil Slack was elected as Club Secretary, Stephanie Butler became Treasurer and Steve Kercher was given the difficult task of events organiser. Finally, Andy Stewart was elected as Web Site Editor.
The clubs first outing was a Treasure hunt organised by Mick Bicknell and was marked by a very good turn out on the day. Castle Combe was where the club had it's first stand and this also proved to be a great recruitment day.
Then on October 4th across the UK a final farewell to the Mini had been organised, this was named as the R.I.P procession. Stuart Dymond and Dave Gardner organised the procession through the streets of Gloucester, Dave had contacted all the media so everything was covered. Again this event turned out to be a great night for more recruitment .
